Launched in 1972 as the first twin engine widebody, the Airbus A300 is a short to medium range, widebody jet airliner. With a two class layout the A300 can typically seat 266 passengers. The cruise speed is Mach 0.78 (515 mph, 829 km/h, 447 knots at 35,000 ft) and the maximum speed is Mach 0.82 (541 mph, 871 km/h, 470 knots at 35,000 ft).
The Airbus A320 has the capacity for two cockpit crew and 150 to 180 passengers depending on seating arrangements.
