A small twin engine aircraft, the Beechcraft Model 50 Twin Bonanza has the capacity for one to two pilots and five passengers. The empty weight is 5010 lb (2270 kg) and the maximum takeoff weight is 7300 lb (3311 kg). The maximum speed is 229 mph (199 knots, 366 km/h) and the rate of climb is 1614 ft/min (8.2 m/s).
Variant models include the Model 50 Twin Bonanza, B50, C50, D50 Twin Bonanza, D50A, D50B, D50C, D50E, E50, F50, G50, H50, J50, Excalibur 800, and L-23 Seminole. The Twin Bonanza was designed to fill the gap between the single engine Beechcraft Model 33 Bonanza and the larger Beechcraft Model 18. The aircraft is about 50% larger than the Bonanza, has more powerful engines, and is significantly heavier.
The King Air 90 and Queen Air were both developed from the Beechcraft Twin Bonanza. The aircraft all share the same basic wing design, landing gear, flaps, instrument panels, fuel cells, and more. The Twin Bonanza was produced from 1952 to 1961 with 994 aircraft built.
