Single Engine Piston Chance Vought F4U Corsair Aircraft

With the capacity for one crew member, the Chance Vought F4U Corsair was a carrier-capable fighter aircraft that saw service in World War II and the Korean War. The aircraft was produced from 1940 to 1952 with 12,571 aircraft built.

The empty weight of the Corsair is 8,982 lbs and the loaded weight is 14,000 lbs. The maximum speed is 369 kts.

The F4U is powered by a {Pratt & Whitney} R-2800-18W radial engine. There was such a high demand for the aircraft that Goodyear and Brewster began production. There are also two Super Corsair variants. These include the F2G-1 and F2G-2. The Goodyear built aircraft were designated the FG and the Brewster built aircraft the F3A.
