Single Engine Piston Luscombe Aircraft Information

The Luscombe 8 series, also known as the Luscombe 50 series, features side-by-side two-seat cabin seating, conventional landing gear, high-wing monoplanes that were designed in 1937. All models are all-metal with fabric covered wings as was the Luscombe traditional design. The initial model had a gross weight of 1,200 lbs (544 kg), a cruise speed of 98 mph (158 km/h) and a maximum speed of 115 mph (185 km/h). It was powered by a 50 hp Continental engine.

In 1946, production began on the Luscombe 8E. The gross weight of the aircraft is 1,400 lbs. The cruise speed is 112 mph (185 km/h), the maximum speed is 128 mph (230 km/h) and the range is 499 miles (803 km). The final version in the series is the Luscombe 8F. It was also developed as the Luscombe T8F, a tandem seating model. The 8F uses a 90 hp Continental engine, which increased the cruise speed to 115 mph (185 km/h) and the maximum speed to 140 mph (230 km/h).

The Luscombe 11 was designed and built to meet the specifications of the Flying Farmers of America. The aircraft is a high- wing, four- seat, single engine civilian utility monoplane. The empty weight of the aircraft is 1,280 lbs (581 kg) and the maximum takeoff weight is 2,280 lbs (1,035 kg). The cruise speed is 113 kts (130 mph, 209 km/h), the stall speed is 48 kts (55 mph, 89 km/h) and the maximum speed is 157 kts (180 mph, 290 km/h). The 11A is powered by a Continental E-165-2 engine.
