Accident/Incident Occurred on: 2017-10-14 Narrative: AIRMAN FLEW EARLIER IN THE DAY AND WAS UNHAPPY WITH HIS LANDING SO HE WENT UP AGAIN FOR LANDING PRACTICE AND STAYED IN THE TRAFFIC PATTERN. THE AIRMAN WAS USING RUNWAY 18 AND ESTIMATED ABOUT A 6 KNOT CROSSWIND. THE FIRST LANDING WAS TO A FULL-STOP AND UNEVENTFUL. ON THE SECOND LANDING THE AIRMAN SAID THE LANDING WAS OKAY, HE MAY HAVE BEEN A LITTLE FAST AND HE WAS TRYING TO MAKE THE TURN OFF AT TAXIWAY C. WHEN HE APPLIED THE HANDBRAKE (NO TOE BRAKES IN THIS MODEL) HE STARTED SKIDDING AND WENT OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF 18, THROUGH THE GRASS AND THEN UP ONTO RUNWAY 27 WHERE THE AIRPLANE STOPPED. THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED UPON IMPACT WITH THE PAVEMENT EDGE OF RUNWAY 27 AND THE RIGHT WINGTIP WAS DRAGGED ON RUNWAY 27. 2013: All Circuit Breakers Replaced & King KX-170B, KI-209 CDI, Garmin GA-56 GPS Antenna, King KN-75 Glide Slope, PS Engineering PM-501 Intercom, Bendix ID-824 CDI, Narco MK-12D Nav/Com, EI OAT Gauge, NuLites Installed. MSB 1245 C/W - Satisfactory Stab Control System Inspection Due Every 7 Years. 2011: Overhauled Alternator Installed. 2010: New Starter Installed. 2009: (June) Engine Overhauled by G&N With Overhauled Mags, Fuel Pump, Alternator, Exhaust & Carb. Reinstalled OCT 19 at 2530.6 Hours With New Lord Engine Mounts, Vent Hoses & All Flex Fuel Lines Replaced Along With a New RAPCO Dry Air Pump, New Baffle Seals and a New Alternator Belt. Resealed Brake Cylinder. SB 1006 C/W by Removing Both Fuel Tanks & Inspect Spar Behind Tanls for Corrosion. Treated Aircraft With DINOTROL A8. Insulation Blanket Installed. 1998: Slick Mags Installed. 1985: Flap & Aileron Seals, SB 836A - Replaced Aluminum Cables with Copper Cables. 1984: Tanis Engine Pre-Heater & New Fuel Tanks Installed. 1983: STC Fiberglass Wingtips Installed @ 1580-TT. 1979: New Chrome Cylinders Installed at 1258-TT. Note: From AUG 2006 - May 2009 This Aircraft Was In Storage.
