    Beechcraft 1900 Series Aircraft Information

A 19-passenger, pressurized twin-engined turboprop, the Beechcraft 1900 is manufactured by the Beechcraft Division of Hawker Aircraft Beechcraft. The 1900 has the capacity for one crew member (two for airline operations) and 19 passengers. The empty weight is 10,434 lb (4732 kg) and the maximum takeoff weight is 17,120 lb (7764 kg). The cruise speed is 280 knots at 20,000 ft (518 km/h at 6100 m). The rate of climb is 2615 ft/min (797 m/min). The aircraft was designed as a regional airliner. The 1900 is used a regional airliner, freight aircraft, corporate transport, and by the US military and other governments.

Designed to carry passengers in all weather conditions from airports with relatively short runways, the 1900 is capable of flying in excess of 600 miles. In terms of the number aircraft built, the plane is one of the most popular 19-passenger airliners in history. Produced from 1982 to 2002, variant models include the 1900, 1900C, 1900D, Military C-12J, and King Air ExecLiner.

Derived from the King Air all Beechcraft 1900s share certain characteristics with the aircraft. The 1900's cockpit controls and operations are similar to those of the King Air. Federal Aviation Regulations require two pilots for airline operations. The aircraft is designed and certified for single-pilot operation in corporate or cargo settings.

The Beechcraft 1900 is equipped with two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A turboprop engines. Two 1100 shp PT6A-65B engines powered the 1900 and 1900C. The 1900D is powered by two 1279 shp PT6A-67D engines. The aircraft's propellers are manufactured by Hartzell with four blades on each and made from composite materials. The recommended fuel is jet A. However, the engines are also approved for limited operations on other types of jet fuel or aviation-grade gasoline.
