Detailed Description

N2146Q is a solid aircraft that presents itself well, both inside and outside the cockpit! It has a standard panel but all the instruments except for the vertical speed indicator have been replaced new or overhauled while in my care.

Avionics:
Comm 1 - Garmin 430 W (Wass compliant) with ILS
Comm 2 - King KX 155, (overhauled Dec. 2022)
Audio Panel - Garmin GMA 340
Transponder - Garmin GTX 345 with Flight Stream 210 which provides ADSB in and out and provides an excellent display on an iPad
Original ADF - Continues to operate well so I've left it in the plane.
Autopilot - None. The original equipment was inoperable so I removed it to lighten the aircraft.
ELT - ACK, 406 + 121.5, gps capable, installed new August 2013
Dual PTT

Lighting:
Dual taxi & landing lights mounted in the cowl
Wing tip strobes
Navigation lights
Beacon (replaced new in April 2019)
Courtesy lights under the wings and in the cabin

Maintenance:
4428 hr. total time, 806 hr. TSMOH
Annual certification and VFR certified in March of 2024
Compressions 79,79,79,78 over 80. This is the best readings yet, but they have always been in the high 70's during my 13 yrs. of care.
Carry thru spar eddy current tested and passed March 2023,
Annual AD for seat rail inspection passed.
Replaced main gear actuator bearing/connector with new in 2012.
500 hr. Magneto inspection at 4358.8 hr.
Prop governor overhauled in 2018 @ 4263.2 hrs.
Oil analysis - conducted in 2023 & 2024, both normal
Tires - The mains were replaced in 2023 and have about 32 hours on them, the nose tire was replaced in 2024 and has about 1 hour of use.
Records - Complete and well organized in suitable carrying case

Interior:
Headliner and half the plastic trim have been replaced. Other trim was repaired in 2012. At the same time, the seats were rebuilt (both front seats are articulating) and recovered. New carpeting and wall/door coverings were installed. They still look great, see photos. Front windshield was replaced prior to 2011 but is in good condition. The passenger window was replaced in 2014 with one containing a camera window. The remaining windows are original and have minor crazing.

Exterior:
Original paint but still presents well. The plane has been hangared since my purchase in 2011. Static wicks have be replaced as needed.

Performance:
Horsepower- 200, cylinder/oil pan heaters. Useful load - 157.4#, gross wt. - 2800#, Usable fuel - 60 gallons. Cruise 155mph @5000', 9 GPH & 65% power. I added a short stack Power Flow exhaust system effectively adds about 20 hp and 200 fpm climb performance. Maple Leaf fairing for the exhaust stack which improves engine cooling. I've never had cooling issues even on hot summer days at gross wt. while using normal engine management techniques.

Other items included with aircraft:
4 port portable oxygen system with case
tow bar
cowl plugs & pitot cover
fuselage cover
miscellaneous tools & supplies
battery minder (very important)
fuel tank pump to remove excess fuel
wheel chocks
4 headsets

I placed N2146Q into commercial service, Part 91 Air Touring, in 2012 and then into Single Pilot Part 135 Air Touring and light charter in 2013. I've maintained it to commercial standards to this date. However, the time since engine overhaul exceeds 12 yrs. (though not 2000 hrs.) so it is no longer eligible for Part 135 service but continues to be suitable for part 91 commercial use.

When I bought the plane 13 years ago, the previous owner had done 2 major maintenance items, OH'd the engine and the Hydraulic pump. However he had neglected many small items. I will be happy to email scanned images of the last 5 years of log book entries as well as my first 2 annuals - just to show you the kind of things you won't have to face. For instance, this year I had one brake line swivel connector (by the main gear) that began to leak. For a tiny part, they are very expensive. I had both replaced since both had the same number of cycles and the other was bound to fail soon.

Remarks

N2146Q is owned by Kootenai Aviation Inc. which is a Montana corporation. William Caldwell is the President who co-owns the business with his wife, Linda.
