Detailed Description

Back Country Camping Machine looking for someone to keep it busy. 26" tundra tires STC (not currently installed, but have the rims and front fork for 8" nose wheel), 8.50 mains and 6" front currently. Paint decent, utilitarian interior, F Attlee Dodge jump seat (original back seat also included). GNS530W, GDL88 ADS-B, Sandia STX165 transponder, KY197 comm, KN53 Nav, Garmin 340 audio panel, EI 16 channel engine analyzer, EI primary oil T/P, EI fuel flow, backup vacuum system, 406 ELT, 6810 hours airframe, 1950 SMOH, new Macauley prop 2014 (under 500 hours), always oil analysis, includes spare new Superior cylinder, extended baggage compartment, 4 point harnesses front seats, custom cargo net, includes tug shown. Decent glass, no damage history except hangar injury (replaced right elevator). Overhaul 2001, flown regularly until last 5 years or so only 30-40 hrs/yr.

Avionics / Equipment

4 place intercom, see main listing

Airframe

Wheel pants not installed but included

Engines / Mods / Prop

Two cylinders have been replaced during current engine run, compression good. Bad valve guide detected at engine oil analysis and new superior cylinder in 2021. Runs strong, obviously will need overhaul soon

Interior / Exterior

Very basic interior-floor carpets are home-made riveted together car floor mats. Seat adjustments work fine, includes pilot side anti-slip back device, but upholstery is deteriorated. Jump seat installation required removal of plastic panels on right rear and floor carpet. Extended baggage limited to 20 pounds, about 24" long (pillows, sleeping bags, foam pads only).

Remarks

Great airplane for Idaho back country. I have had it to most of the not-super-challenging places in Fly Idaho, as well as fun strips in Alaska, Canada, Oregon and Montana. Great airplane for 3 people camping, will do 4 if you pack light and watch your fuel load. Tundra tires subtract a lot of speed, 8.50 mains and 6.00 nose will handle most situations.
