Jet Aero Aircraft Information

More commonly known in the United States as AERO, the Aero Vodochody aircraft company is based in Czechosolovakia and was started in 1919. Due to economic hardship caused by the fall of Communism in 1989, Aero Vodochody was under the control of Boeing until late 2006. Currently, Sikorsky aircraft is manufactured by Aero Vodochody and parts for multiple Embraer aircraft as well.

The Aero L-29 Delfin is a military trainer aircraft. It seats an instructor and a student. The empty weight of the aircraft is 5,027 lbs (2,280 kg) and the maximum takeoff weight is 7,804 lbs (3,450 kg). The maximum speed is 442 kts (510 mph, 820 km/h) and the stall speed is 71 kts (81 mph, 130 km/h). An aerobatic model named the L-29A Akrobat was developed along with a reconnaissance model with cameras mounted in the nose and was named the L-29R. The student and instructor are both equipped with ejector seats in a tandem position with separate canopies. Though no longer in production, 3,500 of the aircraft were built between 1963 and 1974.

Built to replace the Aero L-29, the Aero L-39 is a jet aircraft trainer. The jet seats one student and one instructor. The empty weight is 7,617 lbs (3,455 kg) and the maximum takeoff weight is 10,362 lbs (4,700 kg). The maximum speed for the aircraft is Mach 0.80 (609 mph, 980 km/h). Mostly used for training and instruction, it is possible to find an L-39 available for private rides. Though no longer in production, over 2,800 aircraft are still in use in multiple air forces.
