    Beechcraft Duchess Aircraft Information

The Beechcraft Model 76 Duchess is an American twin-engined monoplane. The Duchess has the capacity for one crew member and three passengers (five with optional seating). The empty weight is 2446 lb (1100 kg) and the maximum takeoff weight is 3900 lb (1780 kg). The cruise speed is 165 knots (190 mph) and maximum speed is 171 knots (197 mph). The rate of climb is 1248 ft/min (380.4 m/min).

The Duchess is powered by one 180hp Lycoming O-360-A1G6D on the left wing and one LO-360-A1G6D on the right wing. These engines drive counter-rotating, constant speed two-bladed propellers. The aircraft is a cantilever, low-wing monoplane with an all-metal structure, four seats, retractable tricycle undercarriage, and a T-tail.

Beechcraft developed the Duchess from the single-engine Beechcraft Musketeer. The first Model 76s were delivered in early 1978. The Duchess was designed as an economical twin-engine trainer to compete with the Piper PA-44 Seminole and the Cessna 310. The aircraft's wing is of honeycomb construction fastened by bonding to reduce cost and produced a smoother aerodynamic surface. The Duchess is no longer in production, but 437 aircraft were built.
