    Continental TSIOL-550 Engine Information

    Developed for use in light aircraft, the Continental IO-550 engine is a large family of fuel injected six-cylinder, horizontally opposed, air-cooled aircraft engines. The IO-550 produces 300 hp at 2700 rpm. The compress ratio is 8.5:1. The Continental IO-550 has a displacement of 552 cubic inches. The engine is used in several Beechcraft, Bellanca, Cessna, and Cirrus aircraft along with a few others.

    The Continental TSIOL-550 is a liquid-cooled version of the IO-550. Variant models of the TSIOL-550 include the TSIOL-550-A, TSIOL-550-B, and TSIOL-550-C.
