Single Engine Piston Navion Aircraft Information

Built by Ryan Aeronautical Company, the Navion is a series of single engine, four-seat aircraft that was designed at the end of WWII. Though originally designed to compete in the civil market, the Navion interested the US Army Air Force. The acquired aircraft were redesignated the L-17 series. Initial models were powered by Continental E-185-3 or Continental E-185-9 engines while later models used Lycoming GO-435-C2 or Continental IO-470 engines.
