Detailed Description

★ Price Reduced! Make a reasonable offer! ★

Spring is here and Dawn Patrol Season has started - it's time to get up into the air!

And no better way to do that than in this classic aircraft, beautifully restored from the ground up. It is a flying piece of history - in 1948 the Vagabond series saved Piper from bankruptcy after the war.

Type certificated without an electrical system, but it's simple to start. Chock the wheels, set the throttle to idle, prime, and hand prop. The whole process can be learned in under 20 minutes.

No Mode C transponder or ADSB to fool with. Connect your handheld to the external antenna and you're all set for entry into the Class D.

Incredibly affordable: at $43,000.00 you won't find a better fully restored LSA aircraft for less. And sips just 4.1 GPH making the $100 hamburger a reality again!

Ready to fly! A fresh annual inspection is being wrapped up this month.

Total Time: 1465 Engine Time: 11

Lycoming O-145B 65hp - recent rebuild by Hackenberg and Sons in PA

Sensenich prop - brand new wood prop from the factory

Avionics / Equipment

This is a basic day-VFR cruiser with original gauges - tach, airspeed, altimeter, oil temp and pressure, compass and slip / skid ball.

Check out the Piper branded gauges! They're a great detail.

The owner ran an external antenna to use with a handheld so you can get in and out of controlled airspace. No ADS-B or transponder so you've got to avoid the Bravos

The plane has been wired for lighting and such, so no need to run wiring for the night upgrade, but the new owner would need to add those components and a battery

Airframe

Chromoly and aluminum within, brand-new poly-fiber covering except on the cowl which is aluminum

Engines / Mods / Prop

Lycoming O-145B 65hp - recent rebuild by Hackenberg and Sons in PA

Interior / Exterior

The interior is immaculate with a new bright blue seat, wood stick handle, fresh carpet and a clean, large aft storage area

Remarks

This plane qualifies for the LSA classification giving the right owner more freedom and flexibility for getting a very affordable $100 burger.
