    Turbine Helicopter Hughes 500C

    The McDonnell Douglas MD-500 Series is a series of utility military and civilian helicopters. The MD 500 is a development of the Hughes 500 series. The aircraft was designed to meet the needs of the US Army requirements for a light observation helicopters. The 500C is powered by an Allison 250-C20 engine with a range of 301 miles and a cruise speed of 125 kts. The empty weight is 1,240 lbs and the gross weight is 2,550 lbs.
