    Piper Sport Aircraft Information

The PiperSport was a derivative of the SportCruiser, Piper Aircraft announced they would license in January 2010. The capacity is for one pilot and one passenger. The empty weight is 740 lb (335 kg) and the maximum takeoff weight is 1320 lb (600 kg). Cruise speed is 133 mph (215 km/h), stall speed is 34 mph (55 km/h), and rate of climb is 1200 ft/min (6.15 m/s).

The SportCruiser was manufactured by Czech Aircraft Works. For this reason Piper minimally modified the SportCruiser to develop the PiperSport. The PiperSport features stronger nosegear, a Ballistic Recovery System parachute, leather interior, a cockpit sunshade and modified pitch controls, and a custom paint scheme. Three different trim and avionics configurations are available. Higher end models offer the Dynon D100 glass cockpit and autopilot. All models are powered by a 100 hp Rotax 912S.

The PiperSport was marketed to flight schools and private owners. The aircraft was discontinued in January 2011. However, the SportCruiser is still currently in production.
