    Piper Seminole Series Aircraft Information

    A development of the Piper Cherokee the Piper PA-44 Seminole is an American twin engine light aircraft. The Seminole has the capacity for one crew member and three passengers. The empty weight is 2360 lb (1070 kg) and the maximum takeoff weight is 3800 lb (1723 kg). The cruise speed is 155 knots and the maximum speed is 202 knots. The rate of climb is 1200 ft/min (366 m/min). The Seminole is used in flight training and as a personal aircraft.

    The Piper Seminole was built from 1979 to 1982, 1989 to 1990, and since 1995. Variant models include the PA-44-180 Seminole and the PA-44-180T Turbo Seminole. The first aircraft were powered by two 180 hp Lycoming O-360-E1A6D engines. Models produced later were powered by two Lycoming O-360-A1H6 engines. The Turbo Seminole featured two turbocharged 180 hp Lycoming TO-360-E1A6D engines. The Seminole has a high T-tail similar to the Piper Arrow IV. The aircraft also resembles the competitive Beechcraft Duchess.
