The Mitsubishi MU-2 is a high wing, twin engine turboprop, aircraft with a pressurized cabin. The aircraft is one of postwar Japan's most successful. The MU-2L has the capacity for one or two pilots and four to twelve passengers. The empty weight is 7570 lb (3433 kg) and maximum takeoff weight is 11,575 lb (5250 kg). The cruise speed is 261 knots (300 mph, 483 km/h), the stall speed is 76.5 knots (88 mph, 142 km/h), and the maximum speed is 295 knots (340 mph, 547 km/h). The rate of climb is 2630 ft/min (13.4 m/s). The powerplant is two Garrett TPE331-6-251M turboprops.

Variant models include the short fuselage variants: XMU-2, MU-2A, MU-2B, MU-2C, MU-2D, MU-2DP, MU-2E, MU-2F, MU-2K, MU-2M, MU-2-, and Solitaire. Long fuselage variants: MU-2G, MU-2J, MU-2L, MU-2N, and Marquise. The military variants: LR-1 and MU-2S. Produced from 1963 to 1986, the Mitsubishi MU-2 was designed as a light twin turboprop transport suitable for a variety of civil and military roles.
